ZAGLUL KHANDKAR
Zaglul is an experienced environmental professional based in Sydney, Australia, currently working at SMEC. He holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and has over 20 years of experience in the consulting industry in large infrastructure projects, leading major environmental and social studies in dam-hydropower, playing a key role in more than 50 projects in 30 countries. Having been involved in more than 15 major hydropower projects with installed capacities ranging between 250 MW and 7000 MW in Australia, South East Asia, and Africa, he has considerable experience in conducting environmental and social impact assessments and due diligence and compliance auditing (including IFC Performance Standards and Guidelines, World Bank & ADB Safeguard Policies and Guidelines, ISO 14001, ISO 19011, ISO 9001, and ISO 31000). His experience extends to managing multi-disciplinary teams on various small and large-scale loan, aid and private and publicly funded projects. Zaglul is a qualified environmental engineer specialising in sustainable infrastructure and water resources management and is accredited by the professional institutes ‘The Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) Scheme, Exemplar Global and Infrastructure Sustainability Council’.
