Pang Chan Ping
Pang Chan Ping holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Environmental Engineering and has over a decade of experience in environmental consulting and management. She is a registered Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant with both the Department of Environment (DOE) and the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak, specializing in wastewater, noise, air quality, and general environmental management.
Currently, Pang serves as the Head of the Regulatory and Compliance Unit for the EIA Division within the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Department at Sarawak Energy Berhad. Her core responsibilities include coordinating environmental regulatory compliance, conducting environmental compliance audits, and liaising with stakeholders to support the company’s business development. She has been instrumental in developing Sarawak Energy’s Environmental Management Guidelines, including those for construction sites, erosion and sediment control, coal mining, and environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA).
In addition, Pang is a Professional Technologist focusing on Green Technology, an NREB-certified Internal Environmental Compliance Auditor, and holds certifications in multiple competencies, including Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) and Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM). Pang is also a Provisionally Accredited Assessor of the Hydropower Sustainability Standard, an HRD CORP Accredited Trainer, and a Life Member of the Malaysian Stormwater Organisation (MSO).
